Noah

Well Josh and Sara Davis, Adrienne’s sister and husband are up visiting from Texas and thus far it’s been a blast. Noah is a champ and pretty much lets us do whatever we want without time restraints, he eats and sleeps followed by some fussiness around 8:30pm for about an hour or so. In addition he’s slept through the night the past 3 out of 4 nights, which is nice. The hot wings we had on night 4 might have had something to do with him not sleeping a lot that night, either way we can’t complain. Tomorrow is Zoo day which will be Noah’s first debut to the zoo. Other firsts for him this week included to Best Buy, Cabalas, Dairy Queen, The beach (man made of course), and Wild Wings. I’ve had a few days off with him and it’s so much fun to play with little Noah and hold him, until he cries, then Adrienne gets to work her Mommy magic and get him quiet. The dogs are still adjusting well, and life is still going as usual. I won’t say much more because I’ve had some website construction that’s taken up most of my web time tonight so I’ll keep this update short. I also put some more pictures I took on the Noah tab; Sara Davis said Cathy (grandma) wanted me to update the pictures more :-) Enjoy!

Ah how little Noah is growing up…today his belly button falls off and tomorrow he’s off to college. OK well that’s probably a little over dramatic but hey, he does seem to be growing up pretty good. He can lift his head and turn it from side to side during “tummy time” and he also has learned to smile with both sides of his mouth as well as focus his eyes which is a nice improvement from the cross eyed looks he used to give us. :-) He eats well, stays awake for about 20 minutes and then is back to his deep sleep for hours which is nice for Adrienne because she can get caught up on her sleep. Noah’s favorite position to sleep thus far is on his tummy on someones chest, both arms stretched out as if giving a mini hug and his knees pulled up to his chest. It’s pretty cute so we let him sleep like that when we can. :-)

Adrienne’s parents were here for the past week which was extremely nice because the laundry, cleaning, cooking and shopping was all done for us! We also made good use of Jeff’s new truck for getting patio furniture and a grill. The puppies were ecstatic to see them and I can tell them already miss them. Thanks so much for coming to visit and for all your help! I took some more pictures but instead of filling up the main page here I made another page just for little Noah’s pictures. I’ve added the pictures of the last week to the page as well.

Well if you want the honest truth I’m not exhausted or that tired because Noah will sleep like a trooper until Adrienne wakes him up at night to feed, which means that I can practically sleep a full 8 hours a night which is defiantly nice. I’m not gonna write much now because it’s late thought, but I will post some more pictures of little Noah at home. The white hat he’s wearing in one of the pictures was Adrienne’s dads hat when he was little so I thought that was cute, also there a some pictures at the end of our new deck all finished and furnished! It’s so nice to be able to get to our yard and just hang out in the nice weather on it. Well we are all happy here and life with a baby has been fun thus far (knock on wood). Hope all is well with everyone and I’ll keep posting every few days for a while so people can see him.

Little Noah

I guess I should back up a bit for all those who don’t know the whole story of baby Noah. Here’s the short version. Since Adrienne was 6 days past her due date she was induced, which was supposed to start Monday morning at 7am, but due to bed availability we didn’t get there and started until 2:10pm. At about 4:15pm they started the IV and Pitocin running and her contractions were pain free until here water broke at 6:10pm. From there on out we both practiced the breathing and labor preparation stuff Adrienne learned from class. She followed her plan to go epidural free until about 2:10am when after hours of pain and failure of the baby drop down any further due to her tenseness, she gave in and got the epidural. That allowed her to relax enough for the baby to come down far enough to start pushing at 3:40am. After almost 2 hours of pushing little Noah came out at 5:20am. It wasn’t natural early labor we were both hoping for but a baby is a baby and since he’s so cure now we figured he just needed more time to get that way. :-)

Well Adrienne is still at the hospital now but doing well, we were both excited about coming home today but since Noah had a temperature (99.4F)….or what the hospital considers a log grade temp they wanted to keep him one more night. The plan is to get up tomorrow, have Noah circumcised, go to a “homeward bound” class and then get home by 2pm. The doggies have been crazy at home all alone the past few days but they will live, each time I get home to feed they run around for 10 minutes trying to find Adrienne first, they miss her you can tell. One of the nurses said to bring home a blanket the baby had been sleeping in so the dogs could get used to the scent, I’m not sure how to tell if that worked but oh well we did it. The deck is just about completed on the
back of the house now, and things are finally seeming to come to an end. . . everything except the nights of lacking sleep but that’s to be expected. Well I know the pictures on the last blog i wrote were HUGE but I was in such a hurry to get back to the hospital I didn’t even check them, I think you’ll find these much nicer to look at. The verticle pictures are still larger but just click on any photo again after it’s open to close it and get back to the site. I finally got a few of his eyes a little open too, I guess because of his age he’s keeping them shut alot. Enjoy! Can’t wait to show him to everyone and pray we can go home tomorrow as planned! Love,

Here’s how our babies (potnetial) birthday went so far…

0600: call the hospital excited for induction, they say no beds available, they say to call back after 11a. I then listen to Adrienne complain for the 2 minutes it took me to fall back asleep….hehe

1114: call the hospital and they say hopefully they will have a bed available around 1530 today so call back at 1445. We then ate breakfast and complain some more, then we pray about the situation and stop complaining. :-)

1138: The plan is to run a few errands and get Adrienne a high carb lunch for energy….which she will hopefully need TODAY! Otherwise we will just keep waiting until they have a bed available. Keep praying and if there is no update by tonight we are probably at the hospital!

Baby Schmoyer

I thought my next blog would be about the baby but since that hasn’t happened I thought I would update you guys. So, Adrienne still hasn’t had a baby yet, it’s not that there isn’t a baby in there, it’s pretty clear looking at her belly there is a baby, possible 4 or 5 inside there. :-) Or maybe one very fat baby :-) I’ve been taking some pictures and will update them when our internet works a little more consistently but for now I’ll just put in a little note about the baby. Since Adrienne was due to have the baby months ago (ok two days ago) and still hasn’t had the little guy she has an induction scheduled for Monday at 7am, which means the baby could come anytime between now and Tuesday, although we are hoping for RIGHT NOW! Tim’s birthday is Tuesday so who knows there might be two Schmoyer boys with that birthday. It is the 26th right Tim? Anyway, we also had another doctor visit this week, another ultrasound, and a non stress test of baby, everything checks out perfectly which was good to hear. We feel ready for the baby now, the house has been cleaned several times in preparation for baby, the deck we had built is about 5 hours from being completed, our bags are packed, batteries charged and the car seat all set up in the car. I’m pretty sure I put the car seat in correctly, although the hardest part was finding the 2 English written pages in the 150 page instruction manual! So hopefully this will be the last blog until we have pictures of the baby and something exciting to write about. Until then I’ll just continue to hang out with my beautiful pregnant wife who is just glowing with joy, energy and life in preparation for birth! Ok that last part isn’t true but for the sake of my marriage I won’t tell you how an overdue pregnant woman in 90 degree weather with acid reflux, a bladder the size of a pin head, a 10lb baby inside who seems to constantly be running on a treadmill , an aching body unable to bend in any direction and unable to take any medications…feels :-) That’s just the “appropriate for writing” problem list, there are so many more issues that will hopefully all be gone come Tuesday! :-) Welp, hope all is well with everyone else and pray for Adrienne on Monday!

Painting the House

Exciting, Updates No Comments »

Well Adrienne and I finished painting 3 of the bedrooms and 2 of the bathrooms thus far but it feels like we should have the whole house painted by now with the amount of time it takes. Oh well it’s still easier now without furniture in the rooms then it will be later. There are the before and after pictures posted under pictures. The babies’ room is of course the cutest! :-) And a special thanks to Cathy Thompson for making the bassinet cover! It looks brand new and matches the room!

Family Visit

My Life, Updates 2 Comments »

Well I guess I don’t blog as much as everyone else does but we have just been pretty busy. This week Mom, Dad, Grace and Mark all came out to visit and stay a little bit with all of us. It’s been a lot of fun so far. We went to Alexandria and went boating and ate dinner at Tim and Dana’s on Saturday, then Sunday and Monday we spend at our house in Albertville hanging out at the park, the outlets, and the house playing games. Adrienne is such a good little house wife and has been making good food and taking care of all of us. I say that because she deserves extra credit for her work considering she is super pregnant at this point and her feet are painful just to look at they are so swollen! So I know she is uncomfortable, but it’s worth it (for me at least:-)) because we are going to have a cute little baby boy soon and then we’ll get to dress him up in all the clothes we have ready for him. :-) I have pictures from the whole visit and will post them in a few days. Hope all is well with everyone!

Nurses Strike!

My Life, Updates 1 Comment »

Well I’m sure none of you know, or probably really care to know but for the last few months the Minnesota nurses association union has been fighting trying to keep our benefits like health care the same, as well as keeping our pay the same. Well things were not looking good and there was a lot of talk of a strike June 1st which would be no good for me with the house payments and being on the low end of finances right now. However, today the nurses reached an agreement with the hospital administration to keep our benefits the same: $15 per office visit and $250 total deductible, instead of raising our deductible over $4,000. They also managed to get us a 4% raise each year for the next 3 years! It’s only about a dollar more an hour but hey that’s better than it going down! Well I know none of you cared but just thought I’d let you know because it’s a huge weight off my shoulders not going on strike and keeping our health benefits! Especially with a baby on the way. Thank God.
