Pumpkins and Munchkins!

Exciting, My Life, Updates No Comments »

Here are some adorable photos from the last month or so…we have been busy as always and fall in Minnesota is definitely here. Noah is learning so much these days, it really is amazing how much he understands and communicates now. He does the baby sign language for please, thank you, help, more, and all done. It is so cute, and when he gets really frustrated with something he will do please, then help, then thank you in rapid succession over and over until David or I come to the rescue. Some of the picure highlights include: Us at an apple orchard that had a small pumpkin patch a few weeks ago with Dan, Maggie, Ruby & Ti…those pics are especially cute. There are also some from when I had a bunch of my church friends over with their kiddos to make orange ti-dye shirts with jackolantern faces on them. We had quite a few munchkins dressed up as pumpkins that day! Also, I must explain the picture of Noah sitting on the floor with Nilla wafers all around him…that was my day to sleep in and apparently David was working on school in the office, Noah had been quiet for a while and so David went to check on him and found the pantry door open the nilla wafers missing and Noah sitting in a pile of them on the floor. So funny! Noah was really proud of himself and his accomplishment that day…who knows how many he ate! As for the rest they are just random, enjoy!

Much love,
Adrienne, David, and nOah

Well the summer has been awesome, and the warm weather is starting to fade…which is no fun. I’m so far behind on this site it would take way to long to post all that happened, so I’ll just add the pictures as I can, starting with the most recent, my sister Glory’s wedding last week.

HERE ARE SOME UPDATED PICTURES I TOOK!

Half Marathon

Half Marathon

This past Saturday David and I ran in our first official race…we have been training now for 3 months or so to run in Grandma’s Marathon in Duluth at the end of June and part of that training was to run in a half marathon first. We ran the Earth Day Half Marathon in St. Cloud, MN with a couple of his friends from work. We finished the 13.1 miles in 2 hours and 17 minutes without having to walk at all! :) That was my main goal, to not walk and to run it all. Our time is not good, but its not bad either. We maintained a 10 & a half minute mile. We were very excited to have accomplished this goal, but I must admit that it does make me slightly terrified to run a full marathon. I cannot imagine that finish line being the half way mark!! We are continuing to follow our training schedule and hopefully we will be able to complete that goal as well. There are some pictures of the race and also some from Noah’s first official baseball game. We got some free tickets to the Twins game yesterday so we took him to that…the pictures are adorable of him in his little Twins outfit. Also we had a cook out on the first official NICE day in Minnesota for like 5 months…(I told David if it snows one more time here I am putting our house on the market!) And no, Noah wasn’t really eating corn on the cob. That’s all for now, hope all is well with everyone!

Well it’s been about a month since I last uploaded any new pictures or blogged so you should expect tons of pictures! Well…. unfortunately I haven’t been taking very many so the few recient pictures I took you can look at through the link below. I did add a bunch of picture my dad took from when I was kid, do they look like Noah? There are some pretty funny ones though. Since a lot has been going on this month I’ll just list out the old and the new.

THE OLD:
1. Noah got his first tooth [aka toofer] mid month and is working on his second one. Lots of Tylenol for the little guy. I’ll try to get a picture of it soon.

2. Noah can stand up if you hold his hands. And when he does you can see like 20 fat rolls in his stiff little legs :-)

3. He started eating veggies, so far Peas, Squash, Carrots, sweet potatoes. I have pictures of his first food trial but he didn’t even make a face, he just ate it. Not picky that’s for sure. We also bought him a high chair which makes it much much easier!

4. Snow, snow, snow, it’s come and goes and comes back again. Yesterday was especially cold, the “feels like” temperature was -44F at one point. Ouch.

5. I switched my job hours so now I’m working three 12 hour shifts a week which is nice because I have a lot more time at home.

6. I also completed the referrals I needed to get the Xbox 360 Elite and Ipod Itouch, but instead I took the cash option and bought a weight set and saved the rest! Free money [$830] is always good. You might remember my post a few months ago about this. Thanks to all that helped! If you are interested in getting free cash or a free Iphone you can sign up through my brother by clicking here

THE NEW:
1. Adrienne and I are going out of town with Dan and Maggie to Duluth, MN. I’ll be taking lots of pictures then so keep posted for those but basically it will be several days of skiing, snow shoe walking, Imax movies, massages, and sleeping in!

2. My parents and Grace and Mark are coming out to watch Noah, Ruby, Titus, and the doggies. They will be here surrounding our trip too so that should be fun.

3. Adrienne and I are attempting to work out more consistently, keep looking at upcoming pictures to tell if that works out for us or not. :-)

First Christmas for Noah…

Christmas, Christmas, Christmas! In the interest of time I’ll try to keep this note short, but the bullet points since I last wrote pretty much include getting ready for and having Christmas. We drove down to Houston, TX for Christmas with Adrienne’s family which was really fun, Noah slept through the entire 21 hour drive down there and back. I don’t have to tell you what a blessing that was. It’s amazing what double strength Benadryl will do!…..haha, totally kidding. Anyway Noah was pretty much the star of Christmas getting so many gifts that we had to borrow Adrienne’s parents soft top travel container to fit everything on the way home! Adrienne got to see a lot of her old friends and we ate out a TON! [Thanks Mr. Thompson] We hit up so many restaurants we ended up going to some twice. All that to say Christmas was great and was the perfect first Christmas for the little guy Noah.

Lots has been happening, but here is a quick recap…my parents have been in town for the past week visiting and we have been finishing up the downstairs decorating, we painted the kitchen and hung up some curtains which turned out to be alot harder than it sounds, but thanks to my Moms sewing capabilities she fixed them up and we are good to go! It was also a big week for Noah, he had his very first rice cereal!! I was planning on waiting till he was 6 months old, but because of his size his peditrician suggested starting it earlier and since he has been very very hungry lately David and I decided to give it a try and he seemed to like it. I thought he would immediately spit it out but he seemed to want more, hopefully this will give him more substance and he will go further in between feedings. Anyways, enough about that, we also had Halloween by handing out candy to trick-or-treaters and we dressed Noah up as Tigger since his Grandma Nancy sent an adorable outfit we just could not resist!! Check out the pictures, he is super cute!

Much love from MN,
Adrienne

Noah pumpkins

Adrienne, Noah and I went to visit Tim and Dana in Alexandria this past weekend for a bike ride and pumpkin patch visit which was fun. We also ended up carving a pumpkin into a face of some kind as you can see below. Tim and I got pretty tired of the creativity part of carving so we stopped using a knife and finished the project rather quickly using a drill. :-) Not a whole lot going on here, Noah keeps changing and Adrienne and I just watch him. Hope all is going well with everyone!

Noah Singing

Well I’ve been delaying in putting another post on here because I’ve only taken a dozen or so pictures since I last wrote, which of course I feel horrible about because I think a few days slipped by there where I didn’t get even a single picture the entire day! haha. Probably because we’ve been a little busy the past few weekends, one Saturday my brothers Tim and Dan came down to spend 5 1/2 hours helping me stain the deck (I’ve included pictures for proof :-)), and another Saturday helping my brother Dan lay down sod in his yard after he had his pool removed. I’ll try to post a little sooner next time though, I have to keep all my reader up to date. Thats right I said “reader”, and if you are reading this congratulations you are the reader! :-) haha. Anyway the little guy is doing great, as you can see from the pictures he is pretty good with tummy time now and now practicing his singing. Adrienne read somewhere that babies like it when you imitate the sounds they make, so keeping in mind that Noah can talk (aka shout) louder and higher than me when he gets going with Adrienne it sounds like the war scene from Braveheart when Mel Gibson comes charging over the hills with paint on his face and a thousand men behind him. ;-) Ok that could be an exaggeration but not by much. What really gets Noah going is reading him books, we only read him two right now (You are special by Mac Lucado and his bible) but he doesn’t seem to mind because he just looks at the pages talking and yelling so much that I feel like he’s not even listening to story. :-) Well thats pretty much it right now, I keep working at the hospital and Adrienne keeps working at home with the “chunk-a-monk” as we call him. Hope all is well with everyone and enjoy the pictures. I put a few in a row of the same scene so you can pick out which ones he’s singing high notes and which ones he is singing low notes :-)

Noah Swimming Video

Updates 4 Comments »

David has been working away making a video of Noah’s first trip to the pool…he is the cutest baby, and even cuter in his swim trunks. Luckily we got to the pool while my college roomie and one of my bestest friends, Lyndsay Spink was here visiting with her boyfriend Sage (who by the way makes the best snack plates for munching). Anyways back to the pool thing, we are lucky we got there because this morning it is like 60 degrees outside which is definately too chilly for swimming. Noah did great at his first venture to the water…David and I passed him back and forth taking tons of photos of course and by the end of it all the little guy fell asleep in his daddy’s arms while still in the pool, too cute! There are some other new photos posted too including: Ruby’s birthday party, Noah’s first bike ride, Noah’s first hiking trip (which didn’t work out too well considering we brought our stroller for the rough terrain), Noah’s first swim, the Minnesota State Fair, and I am sure some other random ones. Enjoy everyone and have a blessed day!

Adrienne

2 Month Doctors Visit…

Updates 3 Comments »

Noah

Well Noah had his 2 month doctors visit yesterday and heres the verdict:

Weight: 14 lbs 15 oz (97th percentile)
Height: 25 inches (97th percentile)
Head: 16 inches (90th percentile)

We love that he’s eating well and growing so big, although it does come with some downfalls….for one I had to adjust the straps in his car seat today from the smallest size to the next size up, which was heartbreaking cuz it’s like his first step towards college…haha. Also he’s less comfortable now because Adrienne refuses to let him grow out of his cute little 0-3 months clothes that are at this point are WAY to small for him :-) When he wears that size onesie he can’t shrug his shoulders cuz of the tension. Another downfall is that he little guy loves to rest on his back looking towards the right side, which means he developed a flat side on the back of his head. As a result if that spot doesn’t round out in the next 2 months he’ll have to wear a pediatric helmet for a few months to correct it. Sad. :-( Anyway Adrienne and I are trying to keep him off that site of head now to fix it on it’s own but it’s hard cuz he loves that position, if you have any ideas to keep him off that side please post a comment!

Anyway, today the little guy went for his first bike ride in the bike trailer, and don’t worry if you are thinking “he has no neck support yet!”, I took care of that by strapping his car seat into the trailer and yes it was in there tight. Those pictures will be posted later with the next set. Anyway, hope all is well with everyone and pray for little Noah’s head! :-)
