The Babies Dedication

Noah & Titus Schmoyer were dedicated yesterday at church! The pictures show pretty much what it was like, but it was special that both Noah and Titus were able to have it done together. I gave up sleep even though I had worked the entire night before, and Dan gave up going to the Eagles vs Vikings football game for the occasion.
Since Maggie and I both work different weekends it wasn’t easy planning. We were excited that Adrienne’s parents could be here for the dedication, and a good thing they were because now we have pictures of it! The pastor pretty much called us up after the music and before the sermon and explained what dedication is NOT, and then explained what it did mean, ending with a prayer for the babies. I don’t know if mentioned it before but I’ve been playing the guitar in church recently too, which could be view by some in the church as a step towards “contemporary worship”, so I’ve kept it pretty simple and quiet for now so the congregation can get used to having a guitar in the background. I like playing in church though because it’s getting me back to reading music more than tabs, it also give me an excuse to play my guitar more! I don’t know if I have said that before yet either, but since I was able to sell a few things on craigslist I bought a new guitar, the Taylor 814CE, it’s an electric acoustic and I love it! The pictures on the link show a “sunburst” top, but mine is just a light tan Sitka Spruce.
Well, the weather is getting colder and the leaves are pretty much all off the trees, but winter won’t be such a bad thing. I’m pretty much ready for the change. Adrienne and I have been decorating the downstairs so we will have a little more comfy area for family when they visit during the winter. We also got a ping pong table for the basement, and although it hasn’t really been broken in to much I’m sure we will when the Schmoyer come out and visit!
