What a Month…

Well it’s been a pretty busy month, although when all is said and done the good out weighs the bad. :-) The bad included a car accident Adrienne Noah and I were in [all safe], hail the size of golf balls putting dents all in our house [twice!], a hail damaged car [our good car of course], and a broken transmission from a bad mechanic [of which we will have to eat the cost of fixing]. So needless to say I’ll will be doing a lot of business with my insurance companies in the upcoming weeks! On the up side though, I’m writing this blog with a sun burn, which although physically painful feels good emotionally because it means summer is here! Adrienne and I both got sun burnt yesterday while doing a 20 mile run in preparation for grandmas marathon quickly approaching. Also this month Adrienne brother Dan Thompson got married! That was so much fun, Adrienne and I went to Texas for a short while with Noah for the grand event and grand it was! Not a single corner was cut over the course of the 3 day extravaganza! :-) Food, parties and marriage! I had better go because out church youth group is having bible study on our deck now and pretty soon we are all headed to the park for games….ahhh summer, it’s finally light outside past 4pm! Well I won’t bore you any longer, but I hope all is well with everyone and from everyone here in Minnesota have a happy summer beginning!

Half Marathon

Half Marathon

This past Saturday David and I ran in our first official race…we have been training now for 3 months or so to run in Grandma’s Marathon in Duluth at the end of June and part of that training was to run in a half marathon first. We ran the Earth Day Half Marathon in St. Cloud, MN with a couple of his friends from work. We finished the 13.1 miles in 2 hours and 17 minutes without having to walk at all! :) That was my main goal, to not walk and to run it all. Our time is not good, but its not bad either. We maintained a 10 & a half minute mile. We were very excited to have accomplished this goal, but I must admit that it does make me slightly terrified to run a full marathon. I cannot imagine that finish line being the half way mark!! We are continuing to follow our training schedule and hopefully we will be able to complete that goal as well. There are some pictures of the race and also some from Noah’s first official baseball game. We got some free tickets to the Twins game yesterday so we took him to that…the pictures are adorable of him in his little Twins outfit. Also we had a cook out on the first official NICE day in Minnesota for like 5 months…(I told David if it snows one more time here I am putting our house on the market!) And no, Noah wasn’t really eating corn on the cob. That’s all for now, hope all is well with everyone!

Crawling!!!

Exciting 11 Comments »

Well I know I just posted a video of Noah a little bit ago but since he started crawling tonight I had to take a quick shot and put the clip online. :-) We are so proud of the little guy, although in the upcoming days I a bet stuff starts getting broken around the house from the little munchkin. The website was down for a while so there might be some glitches while I was updating it, although I think I got most of the problems fixed. Adrienne and I are running in a half marathon this Saturday so wish us luck! We’ll keep you updated on life here and hope all is well with everyone!

After receiving mass amounts of emails from my readers I’ve finally decided to post new pictures and a video of Noah. :-) This video was the beginning of March I wanna say, maybe the end of February but as you can hear he’s got a fat guy laugh to match his size! $10 Bucks says you can’t watch this video without smiling ear to ear. :-) My internet was down for a while but due to multiple phone calls and a new internet box we are up and running. Enjoy the pictures and I’ll be taking more and more as we Minnesotans can start migrating out of the house into the spring weather!

Dan, Maggie, David and I just got back from a little winter get away in Duluth. We were so grateful that David’s parents offered to fly out with Grace and Mark to watch Noah, Ruby, and Ti along with the puppies while we went away. I was very anxious about leaving Noah for the first time, but once we were on the road and our vacation started it was better and Noah did wonderfully at home with his grandparents. He is after all fat and happy most of the time. Anyways, our trip started on Superbowl Sunday as we drove to Duluth, about 2 1/2 hours, ordered pizza and watched the game in our adorable little villa on the ski slope. Actually, Dan and David watched the game, Maggie and I attempted to dye her hair brown…which actually turned out a little red, but it looked magnificent anyways. Monday morning Maggie and I went and got massages (wonderful!) and when we got back to the villa we gathered up the boys and all of our snow stuff and headed out for snow shoeing and ice skating. Snow shoeing was the best because everyone kept falling in the deep snow. Tuesday we skiied, again lots of falling, and Wednesday we just hung out and did some Duluth sight seeing. Over all it was such a fun trip, we laughed alot and in the end we were all happy to return home to see our kids. Thanks again to the Schmoyers for flying out to babysit, the kids miss you already!! Hope all is well with everyone!

Well it’s been about a month since I last uploaded any new pictures or blogged so you should expect tons of pictures! Well…. unfortunately I haven’t been taking very many so the few recient pictures I took you can look at through the link below. I did add a bunch of picture my dad took from when I was kid, do they look like Noah? There are some pretty funny ones though. Since a lot has been going on this month I’ll just list out the old and the new.

THE OLD:
1. Noah got his first tooth [aka toofer] mid month and is working on his second one. Lots of Tylenol for the little guy. I’ll try to get a picture of it soon.

2. Noah can stand up if you hold his hands. And when he does you can see like 20 fat rolls in his stiff little legs :-)

3. He started eating veggies, so far Peas, Squash, Carrots, sweet potatoes. I have pictures of his first food trial but he didn’t even make a face, he just ate it. Not picky that’s for sure. We also bought him a high chair which makes it much much easier!

4. Snow, snow, snow, it’s come and goes and comes back again. Yesterday was especially cold, the “feels like” temperature was -44F at one point. Ouch.

5. I switched my job hours so now I’m working three 12 hour shifts a week which is nice because I have a lot more time at home.

6. I also completed the referrals I needed to get the Xbox 360 Elite and Ipod Itouch, but instead I took the cash option and bought a weight set and saved the rest! Free money [$830] is always good. You might remember my post a few months ago about this. Thanks to all that helped! If you are interested in getting free cash or a free Iphone you can sign up through my brother by clicking here

THE NEW:
1. Adrienne and I are going out of town with Dan and Maggie to Duluth, MN. I’ll be taking lots of pictures then so keep posted for those but basically it will be several days of skiing, snow shoe walking, Imax movies, massages, and sleeping in!

2. My parents and Grace and Mark are coming out to watch Noah, Ruby, Titus, and the doggies. They will be here surrounding our trip too so that should be fun.

3. Adrienne and I are attempting to work out more consistently, keep looking at upcoming pictures to tell if that works out for us or not. :-)

First Christmas for Noah…

Exciting, Updates 1 Comment »

Christmas, Christmas, Christmas! In the interest of time I’ll try to keep this note short, but the bullet points since I last wrote pretty much include getting ready for and having Christmas. We drove down to Houston, TX for Christmas with Adrienne’s family which was really fun, Noah slept through the entire 21 hour drive down there and back. I don’t have to tell you what a blessing that was. It’s amazing what double strength Benadryl will do!…..haha, totally kidding. Anyway Noah was pretty much the star of Christmas getting so many gifts that we had to borrow Adrienne’s parents soft top travel container to fit everything on the way home! Adrienne got to see a lot of her old friends and we ate out a TON! [Thanks Mr. Thompson] We hit up so many restaurants we ended up going to some twice. All that to say Christmas was great and was the perfect first Christmas for the little guy Noah.

Thanksgiving with the Schmoyers!

A lot has been going on since I last wrote. My parents and Poppop came out from Pennsylvania to meet Noah and Titus for the first time, Adrienne made Thanksgiving dinner for everyone (15 people) and we had a little “Schmoyer Christmas” the day after thanksgiving since we won’t be together on actual Christmas day. We made candies, cookies, and more food than you could imagine. And by “We” I mean Adrienne, Maggie and Dana. The pictures tell most of the story but in case you don’t look at them everything went well. I can’t say some of us aren’t tired, for the past 10 days we have been driving around a lot, doing lots of activities and games, but it was all worth it. Grace and Mark sure look older and sound it too. Grace is really into photography and art, and Mark is pretty much into football, basketball and the guitar. Noah is getting bigger and bigger and today we can see the start of his first tooth, he also rolled over from back to front again today for the 4th time in his life. The downside is he loves to scratch his head while he sleeps, making us look like terrible parents :-) We have solved this problem for now with socks on his hands. haha. So yea, excellent progress. Adrienne is sleeping now as is Noah, so I guess will just try to get some rest for the next few days, although it will be short lived as we are going to be undertaking the feat of driving to Houston, TX for Christmas this year. Pray Noah will have a very “Silent Night” that drive. :-) I’ll be working a lot until then so enjoy these pictures for now and hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Free Xbox 360 or Ipod Itouch

CLICK HERE TO SEE MORE PICTURES OF MY BROTHER TIM SCHMOYER WITH THE FREE XBOX 360 ELITE HE GOT!

So why are so many sites trying to make it seem like they are “giving away free” Xbox 360’s or Itouch, Ipods or Iphones? Well they aren’t just giving them away, but it’s not always a scam either. Basically you have to have 9 friends, family or anyone else sign up for a free trial of a product online. They are hoping that if you sign up for it you will keep it going forever and they will have you as a costumer. So basically if you are will to write in your calendar and remember to cancel your subscription to something in a few weeks its truly is free. If you want to try blockbuster movies or Netflix or something you have to pay like $5 for the month to try it but if you were going to rent a movie anyway it might by worth it. Once you have signed up for a trial of any of the stuff they offer, which is sometimes useful stuff anyway, you get a link to your account. That’s the link you refer your 9 people to click on in order to receive your free xbox 360 or other gift.

So am I for this or against? Well, considering I’m usually the type of person that hates getting forwards emailed to me and deletes every spam mail I get with vengeance I want to say no, but since I know so 3 friends and my brother that have done this process hassle free, and since I have a baby now and an xbox will never be in the budget I say yes, it’s worth the 10 minutes it takes. Will you get tons of phones calls and spam emails and end up having to do much more then they say in the end? No, and I speak from personal experience. Are all the sites that offer this kind of thing worth it? NO, most make you buy things and go from page to page filling out stuff with your email address and phone number and it’s really annoying and deceitful. Which is why I don’t recommend all the sites out there, but know personally about the one listed below. You will only give your personal information to the product you sign up for, like stamps.com or something, who by the way will give you $5 in free stamps and it’s free to try. Is it worth it to you? I don’t know, do you know 9-10 people that would want an xbox 360, Itouch, cash, or would be nice enough to sign up for something and cancel it an a few weeks? If so here’s how you start.

Tigger loves rice cereal!

Updates 3 Comments »

img_4700.jpg

Lots has been happening, but here is a quick recap…my parents have been in town for the past week visiting and we have been finishing up the downstairs decorating, we painted the kitchen and hung up some curtains which turned out to be alot harder than it sounds, but thanks to my Moms sewing capabilities she fixed them up and we are good to go! It was also a big week for Noah, he had his very first rice cereal!! I was planning on waiting till he was 6 months old, but because of his size his peditrician suggested starting it earlier and since he has been very very hungry lately David and I decided to give it a try and he seemed to like it. I thought he would immediately spit it out but he seemed to want more, hopefully this will give him more substance and he will go further in between feedings. Anyways, enough about that, we also had Halloween by handing out candy to trick-or-treaters and we dressed Noah up as Tigger since his Grandma Nancy sent an adorable outfit we just could not resist!! Check out the pictures, he is super cute!

Much love from MN,
Adrienne
